I had much difficulty and bleeding while carrying Levi (after three miscarriages) and I was told to be ready for another miscarriage. She was only four pounds at birth. So tiny, but filled with so much life. We had not noticed the abnormal shape of her head until she was two days old. She was very ill and tests were done for cancer. Finally she was cleared of all cancers. And she was diagnosed with a disorder called Rhyneck
(a muscle disorder where the muscles in her neck are so tight that it starts to deform the shape of her head.)
Levi started daily Physio for the next 18 months. The Rhyneck got better but Levi was left with a large lump on her head. After she saw a specialist she was booked in for a scan of her skull. It showed that one side of Levi’s skull had fused together and was pushing the other side of her skull and her brain to one side. If she was not operated on she could become brain damaged or even die. But the operation itself was also a risk to Levi’s life because she was so tiny in size and her age.
At this stage Levi’s Grandfather, Mal, had told me about the babe, and I said to ask them if they would like us to come round and pray for her. I did not think they particularly believed, but they were certainly open for anything. In fact I think the woman whose house they were living in was probably a witch, but that’s no problem to God. So Mal and I laid hands on Levi on the basis of Mark 16:15. I told them they had a Loving Heavenly Father who did not want Levi to be that way any more than they did, and He would prove it to them. Nothing visible happened when Mal & I prayed, but I told them that we had just planted the seed – started the garden - and all I asked from them is that they would not let anyone trample it or dig up the seed, just to be careful what they spoke over the situation. The parents have the final authority and while it’s tragic to see some children suffer needlessly, we must have their parents agreement!
(Steve) Just before Levi was due to fly up North for her operation another scan had to be done to send to the neurosurgeon. Levi had the second scan. That afternoon the specialist rang me. He said: "I can’t explain what I am about to say but Levi’s skull has unfused!" All I could say was, "Thank You, Thank You."
All I have to explain this miracle is the prayer of agreement from our church that Levi would be healed. And she was.
This isn’is nothe only miracle our daughter received. On her 2nd birthday during her party Levi was taken to hospital with what our Dr had told us two days before was a virus. Tests showed her to have photofecules meningitus (I can’t read Jaqui’s writing too good and I’m no medical scholar – Steve) – an illness that kills newborns to five year olds. By this time Levi was so weak that she just lay on the hospital bed, a mask over her nose and mouth as she couldn’t breathe for herself, and tubes and needles in her hand and arms. Words could never explain how we felt to watch a child, our child, lie there with no light or spirit in her eyes. The Doctor said he didn’t know if she could live and that we should prepare ourselves.
Instantly we contacted our Pastor for prayer. A hanky was prayed over by our Church family and brought into the hospital. I lay it over her pillow and placed her head on top of it. I lay with Levi in my arms all night. She had been in hospital three days like this. The next morning Levi was pushing me in the tummy saying: "O Mummy," (over Mummy) as I was taking up too much room. She was trying to pull her mask off. She had the light back and spirit in her beautiful eyes. She was so much alive!
Levi has had to fight for life not once but a multitude of times. She is blessed by God and is a spirit filled child. Satan tried to steal her life but she is protected by God, and God only has proven that to be true. Levi is so, so special and God loves her as He loves each and every one of us.
Thank you Father
Jaqui
